Advocacy Journeys: Disaster Risk Management and Environmental Impact Assessment - Ethiopia and Wetlands policy - Uganda
Abstract: The purpose of this session is to share inspiring policy advocacy and achievements of five organizations; four in Ethiopia, and one in Uganda which are implementing the PfR Dialogue and Dissent project in both countries. The four partner organizations in Ethiopia are: the Netherlands Red Cross in alliance with Ethiopian Red Cross Society & Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Center, Cordaid, CARE Ethiopia and Wetlands International. From Uganda: CARE international in Uganda. These five organizations have conducted effective policy advocacy towards IRM integrated Disaster Risk Reduction strategy, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, and Wetland policy. It is worthwhile to share this impressive experience.
The session would be loved by participants as it provides a convenient and friendly environment for discussion and includes presentations of concrete achievements in policy advocacy. It will be a panel session, in which five people would serve as panelists; one chairperson will facilitate the session.
